A group of inhabitants from Bolsward and the surrounding area founded the second Frisian foodcoöperation. It is called Buurtmarkt Eco-erf Bolsward. They now have 20 members. The aim of the Buurtmarkt is to mainly consume locally what is locally produced.

At the moment nine producers of various products, such as bread, cheese, eggs, vegetables, meat and dairy are involved. They sell their produce straight to the members of the coöperation. Each week members can order what they want. On Saturday morning the producers bring this to a central point, where volunteers divide the products for the members.
